Pauntley Court has always been a place in history where people gathered simply to spend time together.

So it is a real pleasure to say that Pauntley Court is now available for private hire including special party celebrations, wedding anniversaries, wellness weekends, milestone birthdays, girly gatherings or to relax with your closest family and friends in a place of peace and tranquillity.

We would like to welcome you to Pauntley where you will spend blissful days in this family home for a stay that leaves behind the fast pace of everyday life, screens and most importantly, stress. Pauntley is a private and secluded haven that is all about slowness, nature, space and beauty, allowing you time to properly rest and recharge.

On the edge of the Cotswolds, set in glorious Gloucestershire countryside, Pauntley Court is 2.5 hours drive from London, a 2 hour train ride from Paddington to Gloucester and the closest international airports include Heathrow, Birmingham and Bristol.

The Main House and Elinor Fettiplace Wing 

•       Sleeps 18 across eight individually decorated bedrooms and seven beautifully appointed bathrooms.

•       One of these bedrooms and one bathroom is located in our exclusive Elinor Fettiplace Wing, attached to The Main House but with its own separate private entrance kitchen and sitting room, with views over the sunken garden.

•        The Main House has a large fully fitted kitchen with space to seat all your guests for breakfast or lunch. Two characterful sitting rooms, and The Ballroom; a large, light-filled room suited to dining, entertainment or activities such as yoga.

•       A choice of terraces for early evening drinks or perhaps brunch on a sunny day.

•       Access to The Flower Room for breakfast, supper, or even to use for a creative activity such as calligraphy, flower pressing or wreath making if you are here over the cosy Christmas period.

•       Large open fire in The Panelled Room with a basket of logs.

•       Use of all formal gardens, 20 acres of stunning grounds including woodland and lake.

•       Use of Stretch Tent from April to October.

The Dovecote

•       Sleeps four across two large double bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom.

•       A wonderful open plan sitting room and kitchen/dining area on the middle floor with a log burner, for those colder evenings.

•       A private garden.

•       Use of the same 20 acres of grounds including woodland and lake and a mere stone’s throw from The Main House. Perfect if you hire both dwellings together.

Access to our wellness area, The Red Fox Retreat

•       The Poetry Room; a place to pause, read, write letters, play chess and backgammon. Wonderful views up to Pauntley Church and the surrounding farmland. This is well suited to small yoga groups.

•       An Ice bath.

•       There is a secluded and quiet relaxation deck looking out over the Gloucestershire countryside with use of binoculars to spot a passing Red Fox!

•       Come down to a delicious breakfast on one morning of your stay.

•       Morning of your choice and includes fruit, yoghurt, granola, toast, croissants, homemade jam, bacon and eggs.

Things you might like to consider, to make your stay even more relaxing and fun:

•         Hiring the amazing Rachel, our housekeeper for extra hours - £23.50 per hour. She is brilliant at making afternoon tea, brunch or helping clear away after meals. 

•         Having someone cook for you; we can recommend a selection of private chefs, or arrange dishes prepared in advance for you to simply heat and enjoy.

•         The Large Green Egg - A BBQ on steroids! (Charcoal provided) - £80

•         Use of the pool table in the Flower Room - £200, plus a £500 damage deposit

All prices above are for use over your whole stay and include VAT.

•         The Three Choirs Vineyard; Restaurant and Vineyard – you can walk to it from Pauntley Court. Six miles away and great for lunch and supper, and perhaps organise a wine tasting session with a tour through the vines.

•         Sitara – a lovely India Restaurant in nearby Ledbury for supper.

•         The Olive Tree – an Italian restaurant in Ledbury, serving lunch and supper.

•         The Malbury – a café on the Hereford to Malvern road, serving breakfast, hot drinks, cake and lunches.

•         Butchers Arms at Eldersfield – high end bistro pub in the country.

•         The Oak at Staplow – bistro pub out side Ledbury.

•         The Home End – Michelin Guide rated high end fine dining restaurant with great wines.

•         The Royal Exchange – a local pub on the way to Gloucester. Has a garden area.

•         The Inn at Welland – high end Michelin rated bistro restaurant.

•         The Swan at Hanley Swan - a great bistro pub - bookings essential!       

•         Newent Lake – a large expanse of water that hosts a variety of markets and community events throughout the year.

•         Gloucester Cathedral – renowned for its breathtaking Gothic architecture and beautiful medieval cloisters (as seen in the Harry Potter movies!).

•         Wild Flower Illustration Co. – an independent stationery shop in Cheltenham, championing letter writing and the pleasure of slowing down; bring your new paper back to write in The Poetry Room.

•         British Camp – after an amazing Malvern Hill walk, the café opposite the carpark serves, Teas, Coffees, Cakes, Ice Cream and other treats.

•         Eastnor Castle and Deer Park – a place for the whole family, and home of the Land Rover Experience.

•         Forest of Dean – walking, riding, mountain biking, and Go Ape.

•         Cheltenham – Centre of the Cotswolds, a wonderful Spa town with a wide range of top restaurants and a great place to do a bit of retail therapy! Or why not tie your stay in with the renowned Cheltenham Literature Festival in October (book your tickets early as it is very popular) or one of the big meetings at Cheltenham Racecourse. Perhaps The November Meeting (13-15 November 2026) or The Festival (16-19 March 2027).

•         Ledbury – Wonderful market town. The Ledbury Poetry Festival is held from late June to early July each year and is the joint-oldest poetry festival in the UK and is comprised of live readings, workshops, music and film.

•         Malvern Theatre – a wide range of wonderful plays and musical productions to choose from.

•         Dymock – The Dymock Poets walk. The area also overlaps with the eponymous Daffodil Way. A 10-mile walkers’ route, famous for its wild spring flowers across the Leadon Valley.

•         St. John the Evangelist – our next-door neighbour! Sit in this beautiful, idyllic Norman church and absorb the silence and peace! Look out for the stained-glass window of Dick Whittington’s family crest. 30 seconds walk away.

•         The River Leadon – 20-minute round robin walk from The Main House all within the grounds along the banks of the River Leadon running through the property. You might be lucky to see the family of otters, our resident swans and ducks, the heron, passing deer, or even the elusive Kingfisher who lives down by the lower ponds! Extra points given if you see the ‘Red Fox’!
